Tick Tock

This weekend/today went by very fast for me! The Antique Fair in Alameda was yesterday. The weather was nice and sunny and there was more people there than I expected on Superbowl Sunday.

I managed to get out of there having only bought a couple of things, even though there was a lot of stuff I wish I could have bought.

One of my favorite vendors is
Big Daddy's Antiques , I loved most of the things at their booth. They have a lot of amazing industrial pieces, accessories, and custom made furniture. The first three pictures are from Big Daddy's:

{I love the color of this glass}

{Cool printed burlap pillows}

{I need these drawer pulls with letters on them!}

{Who doesn't love a flowered pig?}

{One of the prettiest globes I've seen}

{Even the loading carts are pretty!}

{I bought this for $15, the guy said it was part of a clock originally.}

I also had fun hanging out with friends and watching the Superbowl. Now I've got to get caught up on my to do list for this week that I already feel a little behind on. Time flies...

Sidewalk Saturday 2/6

Today was such a beautiful day in San Francisco that I walked around aimlessly for a couple of hours. I found several new sidewalk stencils, some hearts, and some other interesting/beautiful things.

I ended up in Alta Plaza Park and did a sketch of a Victorian house while enjoying the sunshine (it was very cold though- my fingers went numb!)

Looks like I could use some more practice sketching real life :) I hope you're weekend is going as gloriously as mine is!

{I'm counting this as a smooch cause it's cute, here}

Get Lost

Anthropologie has several beautiful new arrivals that are map/shipwreck inspired that I'm loving:

{all Anthropologie}

In my kitchen, I have a large classroom map of Africa that I got at the Alameda Antique Fair (Next one is Sunday!). Here's a photo of it collaged with a sketch I did today:

Happy

Verner Panton is most famous for his Panton Chair, which I drew a sketch of today.

But he was also the first designer to create inflatable furniture, and he had a dog named Happy, which makes me like him that much more.

I love chairs. I went on a trip to Italy for some design classes and we made a side trip to the Vitra museum in Germany. The museum is beautiful (designed by Gehry) and seeing so many of my favorite chairs up close was amazing.

So I've decided it would be a fun project to sketch all my favorite chairs from the museum.

Also, here's a messy doodle to wish you happy February!
