Why Knot?

I did this knotted rope sketch for something I'm working on, and it inspired me to find these:

Happy Cinco de Mayo

{here}

This is the only interior that featured the colors of the Mexican flag that I found and also liked (red, green, and white is hard to pull off in one room).

I hope you're off enjoying a frosty margarita right now, or maybe some chips and salsa!

Ferris...No, Not That One

I just finished reading The Devil in the White City by Erik Laron, which is about both the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, and a serial killer. Or as the book puts it, "Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America."

The book is fascinating both in regards to the serial killer, and the history of the fair. The design of the fair is very interesting to read about, but one of the more captivating parts is about how the Ferris Whee
l was invented for the fair (to rival the Eiffel Tower, which was built for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris).

I already loved the Ferris Wheel before reading the book (who doesn't?), but knowing it's history has made it that much more enchanting to me.

So here's my tribute to the Ferris Wheel:

I highly recommend the book! (Although some of the crime details might be a bit too creepy for some people.)

What do you think of the Ferris Wheel (or the book if you've read it)?
